Description: On October 3rd, 1993 American Delta Commandos went into the Mogadishu, Somalia to capture of kill lead terrorists including Mohammed Farrah Aidid. The Americans Had 3 Delta Helicopters and 2 Black Hawks. All helicopters had to meet in one building where they knew the terrorist where hiding. The captured terrorist would be taken to a pick up jeep. However, things got of to a bad start. One of the Black Hawks couldn’t make it to the building because it was foggy and hard to see. So they had to pull the rope down and come down. But when the Commander went down he thought “Wait, I haven’t even been down and somebody’s already hit!” But then he realised “Wait, he wasn’t shot, he lost grip of the rope and fell down!” While the soldiers were making their way to the building, Somalian Citizens started shooting the soldiers! But that was just the beginning. All of a sudden, one of the Black Hawks was shot down! Every American soldier went to that helicopter to help the pilot. But something even worse happened. Captain Micheal Durant’s Black Hawk was also shot and fell down. The American soldiers hurried to the crash site. 2 Sniper went in the aid to try to hold of the Somalia’s but sadly, the 2 sniper men ran out of bullets, shot on the head, and died. Almost immediately the head of the attack ordered all helicopters to come back and sent more trucks to pick up the wounded. They had to do this at night. The people who were well and okay had to go by foot because there was no room. in the jeep, the injured people where lying down on the large boot while the dead were stalked on top. Luckily, everybody made it back safely except for 18 US soldiers who died and 3,000 innocent Somalian’s who died. Nowadays in war, army men only aim for military targets and leave any ordinary citizens. But back then, that rule was never there and that’s what enabled the United states to bomb 2 nuclear at Japan: Hiroshima, and Nagasaki.
